Pharon (Rahul) Pawa
Pharon (Rahul) Pawa is a biotech scientist and manufacturing specialist with advanced training in genetics and pathology. He holds a First Class Honors B.Sc. in Biomedicine (Genetics) and First Class Honors M.Sc. in Pathology from the University of Melbourne (2009–2013). His research interests center on cell encapsulation technologies, GMP manufacturing protocols, and the application of quality-by-design principles in advanced therapeutic manufacturing. Rahul has contributed to the development and validation of encapsulated cell therapies for oncology applications, including CypCaps for pancreatic cancer—a platform technology now in preparation to enter FDA clinical trials. His technical expertise spans quality management systems, standard operating procedure development, tech-transfer processes, and regulatory compliance frameworks (ISO 9001, GMP). As Chief Production Officer at Austrianova, Rahul directs research initiatives in novel protein formulation systems (Pep-in-a-Box) and leads collaborative projects at the intersection of manufacturing science and therapeutic development.
