Tami Rubinek, PhD, heads the Oncology Division Research Laboratory at Tel Aviv Sourasky
Medical Center. A leader in cancer research, she focuses on developing innovative
treatments to improve patient outcomes. With Prof. Ido Wolf, she discovered Klotho as a
potent tumor suppressor, uncovering its silencing in cancers, mechanism of action, and
therapeutic potential. Her work also revealed the growth hormone–IGF1–Klotho axis in
growth hormone–deficient children. Dr. Rubinek has published extensively on breast and
pancreatic cancer, endocrine resistance, tumor metabolism, and metastasis. Her team is
advancing Klotho-based therapies, including peptides, mRNA, viral vectors, and CAR-T cells,
bridging basic science with clinical applications.
