Dr. Hagai Ligumsky graduated from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine with a joint MD-PhD degree. He completed his PhD research in molecular biology at the Endocrinology Institute of Sheba Medical Center and did his oncology residency at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Today, Dr. Ligumsky is a medical oncology specialist at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, where he specializes in gastrointestinal and genitourinary malignancies, as well as precision oncology. He also conducts translational research in an effort to optimize cancer treatment. Dr. Ligumsky is the recipient of numerous awards and grants including the Orion Program Fellowship for excellent clinician researchers and the Parasol Foundation’s grant for innovative cancer research in women. He also won first place in the “Entrepreneur of the Future” Academi-Tech Contest, which is awarded by Israel’s Chief Scientist’s Office.
