Lewis Rumpler
Lewis Rumpler is a serial entrepreneur and life sciences executive with over 40 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. His interest in technology and biology developed during his time at the University of Washington, where he earned a BS in Biology and a BA in Zoology.
Throughout his career, Lewis has served in numerous senior leadership roles, including CEO, COO, and CFO. He has co-founded multiple life science companies, most notably Athira Pharma, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company publicly traded on NASDAQ and Epigenesys, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company acquired by Inherent Biosciences. Lewis served as founding Executive Chairman of Inherent Biosciences prior to its successful Series A round led by Propel Bio, where he now serves as a Senior Advisor.
Currently, Lewis is CEO of Alpha-Young, LLC, a California-based biotech company developing novel therapeutics for cardiorenal applications. He also serves as Executive Chairman of Zepa Medical, WildeCare Education, and Precision Quantomics. Additionally, he serves on the board of the Health Sciences and Services Authority, a special purpose taxing authority that provides non-dilutive grants to life science companies where he chairs the Finance Committee.
