Dr. Gwendalyn King
Dr. King earned her BS from the Purdue University and her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center’s Gene Therapeutics Research Institute and Boston University School of Medicine Biochemistry Department. Dr. King received a K99/R01 NIH award to transition from postdoctoral fellow to tenure-track Faculty. She moved to the University of Alabama at Birmingham taking her first faculty position in the Department of Neurobiology in the School of Medicine. Currently she is an Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Biology at Creighton University. Her lab is interested in understanding how klotho effects brain cell function and with that, better understanding mechanisms of brain aging.
